Oats Pongal

- Oats - 1 cup I used Quaker quick cook
- Moong dal/ pasi paruppu - 0.5 cup
- Turmeric - 0.25 tsp
- Salt - As needed
- Water - 2 cup adjust as per needed
To Temper-
- Ghee/oil - 2 tsp
- Pepper - 2 tsp
- Cumin seeds - 2 & 1 tsp
- Asafoetida - 0.5 tsp
- Ginger Chopped - 2 tsp
- Green Chilli - 4
- Curry leaves - A sprig
Instructions-
1. Pressure cook moong dal until mushy with 1.5 cup water for 3 whistles in medium flame.
2. Crush pepper and cumin seeds coarsely , slit the green chilli.
3. Heat a pan with ghee/oil and temper with the items given in order under medium flame.

4. Add water,turmeric and salt and bring to boil.

5. Add the cooked dal and oats and mix well.

7. Cook covered in low flame for 2-3 minutes.

8.until you get your desired consistency.
