Instant oats dosa

  INGREDIENTS - Quick cook oats – 3/4 cup Rice flour – 1/4 cup Wheat flour -1/4 cup Green chilli – 1 no, chopped Coriander leaves – 1 tblsp,chopped Ginger chopped – 1 tsp Cumin seeds/jeera – 1 tsp Pepper – 1 tsp Onion – 1, chopped Salt – as needed Water – as needed HOW TO MAKE INSTANT OATS DOSA METHOD : 1. Make a thin batter of the all the ingredients except onion. You can mix onion in the batter as well. No issues. 2. Heat dosa pan and sprinkle the onions, if not mixed with the batter and then pour the batter to make dosa. Sprinkle little oil. Cook in medium flame and no need to flip,when the dosa becomes golden brown,take out and transfer to the serving plate.

Oats Kanji

Ingredients-  Instant Oats (I used Quaker easy cook) – 1/2 cup Garlic – 6 flakes Carrot chopped – 3 tbsp Tomato chopped – 3 tbsp Green chilli,Chopped – 1 Fennel, crush slightly – 1/4 tsp Coriander leaves, chopped – 2 tbsp Salt – to taste Coconut grated – 1/4 cup Or Low fat Milk – 1/4 cup METHOD- 1. Pressure cook everything with enough water(just add to cover the oats),except coconut in the above ingredients up to 2 whistles.  2.Open the cooker and mash it well with a masher. Make sure you mash the garlic properly so that the flavor blends well 3.Extract milk from the coconut by grinding it with lukewarm water and squeeze out the milk.

  Ingredients- 1 cup Oats quick cook ½ cup Wheat rava godhumai rava ½ cup Curd plain yogurt 2 tbsp Grated carrot ½ cup Water +more if needed salt - As needed ½ tsp Eno fruit salt replace with 1/4 tsp cooking soda Lemon Juice - from 1/2 of a lemon 2 Green chillies finely chopped 1 tbsp Chopped coriander leaves 1 tsp Chopped ginger - 1 tsp To Temper 1 tbsp Oil - 1 tblsp ½ tsp Mustard - 3/4 tsp 1 tsp Urad dal - 1 tsp 2 tsp Chana dal - 1 tsp 1 generous pinch asafoetida 1 Curry leaves sprig Instructions 1. Dry roast Oats for 3 minutes in medium flame until nice aroma comes.Powder it coarsely after it cools down. 2. Heat a pan with oil and temper the items in the table ‘To temper’ ,followed by the veggies you decided to add and ginger, green chillies, coriander leaves. Give it a quick fry and add the wheat rava and fry for a minute in medium flame.  . 3. Oats Pongal

  Ingredients- Oats - 1 cup I used Quaker quick cook Moong dal/ pasi paruppu - 0.5 cup Turmeric - 0.25 tsp Salt - As needed Water - 2 cup adjust as per needed To Temper- Ghee/oil - 2 tsp Pepper - 2 tsp Cumin seeds - 2 & 1 tsp Asafoetida - 0.5 tsp Ginger Chopped - 2 tsp Green Chilli - 4 Curry leaves - A sprig Instructions-  1. Pressure cook moong dal until mushy with 1.5 cup water for 3 whistles in medium flame. 2. Crush pepper and cumin seeds coarsely , slit the green chilli. 3. Heat a pan with ghee/oil and temper with the items given in order under medium flame. 4. Add water,turmeric and salt and bring to boil. 5. Add the cooked dal and oats and mix well. 6. Cook until you get a porridge consistency.  7. Cook covered in low flame for 2-3 minutes. 8.until you get your desired consistency.

OATS MURUNGAI KEERAI ADAI

  INGREDIENTS- Oats – 1/2 cup Drumstick leaves – 3/4 cup Toor dal – 1/4 cup Channa dal – 1/4 cup Urad dal – 2 tblsp Onion (Optional) – 1, finely chopped Green or red chillies – 4 Fennel seeds/ saunf – 1 tsp Ginger – 1 inch piece Asafoetida – 1/8 tsp Salt – As needed METHOD- 1. Soak dal together for 3 hours. First grind chilli, fennel and ginger with little water.  2. Add soaked dal to it and grind coarsely. 3. Add the rest of the ingredients to the ground dal and mix to make a batter. Use water so that the batter is thick enough to spread over tawa. 4. Heat tawa and grease with little oil. Spread thick adai with two laddles full of batter. Cook covered and flip the adai to cook for another minute in medium flame.

Oats Upma

  Ingredients- 3 person- 3 cup Quick cook oats 3 Onion 2.25 cup Mixed vegetables 9 Green chilli 1.5 cup Water Salt - As needed 3 tsp Coconut oil/ sesame oil To temper- 6 tsp Coconut Oil cold pressed virgin 1.5 tsp Mustard 3 tsp Urad dal 6 tsp Chana dal 3 Curry leaves 1 sprig Instructions-  1. Chop vegetables and onion finely. I used ½ a carrot, 4 beans and a fist full of frozen peas. slit green chillies. Heat oil in a pan and temper with the items given under ‘To temper’, then add onion and fry until transparent. Add vegetables, green chillies and if you want you can sprinkle 1/4 tsp sugar to maintain its colour and fry in medium flame for 2 minutes. Sprinkle a little salt just for the vegetables if you want. 2. Add the oats, salt and mix well for a minute. Add 1/4 cup water and mix well and cook covered for 2 minutes. 3. Later again sprinkle the remaining water and mix well and cook covered for another 2 minutes. This way it wont turn too gooey but still gets cooked moist. T...
